Hailing from the West Australian town of Esperance, Car Park Social knows what it means to live on the states edge. Raw and unhinged, the band’s sound is the product of the smorgasbord of individual influence from each member. “The four-piece bring together influences spread from Tame Impala and King Gizzard to POND and Led Zeppelin for a sound that floats somewhere in between this wide-ranging net, moving between heavier, almost punk-like alt-rock right through to their more subtle and psychedelic-leaning work; their many sides joined together by crafty song writing at their core” (Hayden Davies, Pilerats) Car Park Social have spent the past few years writing, recording, and gigging as much as the crazy times have allowed. Their efforts have not gone unnoticed. 2021 saw them sell out their debut EP launch as well as taking the stage at WAMfest and Nannup Music Festival... rounding out the year with a WAM Song of The Year nomination. They have been putting in the miles, and it is reflected in the calibre of their song writing. Their latest release Over The Counter turns another corner. Creative and adventurous, it is the band at their best, and it ushers in 2022 with so much ambition and promise.
