Keenan Back is a mercurial British artist who started in the world of music at an early age. Thanks to his brother Liam Back making beats at home and a passionate music teacher at school, it was quite easy for him to access songwriting and understand beat production. In an internship at a music store, he met his actual best friend Bennykaay, which led to the beginning of the band Contrast (2013-2015). It was the first time he performed in front of an unknown audience. Through these experiences, he expanded his genres into pop-punk and rock. As time went by, band members realised how their individual music taste was diverging from the band roots. Keenan envisioned himself creating a funky album, named Clarity, which was available on several platforms. This clearly implied a sign of adapting to the new era of consuming music. Due to sharing a common interest on funky bands such as Trombone Shorty and Tower Of Power, Keenan’s colleague friend Merlin offered him to collaborate on a project which they named The Funky Fizzles (Mini Ep) (2017). From the beginning of 2018, Keenan decided to go solo again. His song Aspen meant the real transition from the band guy to the independent artist. A new chapter in Keenan’s music career was open after the release of his first music-video Wisdom (2019). Being his first song created after moving to Hamburg, the song implied a change into a more mature, happy and consistent artist, a fact that is reflected in his first 2020’s song Focus.
