Biography

At RKS, we have a long standing history of introducing talented new artists to the realms of UK funky and the wider underground dance music scene. Today we are proud to continue that tradition as we welcome a fantastic new debutant in KTM, the younger brother of our very own Roska, who unleashes three scorchers for us to enjoy. Despite being a supposed newer name, Nathan Goodlitt first started his production journey back in 1998, finding his musical flame reignited during the lockdown period and we couldn't be happier to welcome him back to the game. The EP itself consists of three party-starting funky anthems, with the title track ‘Disturbance’ being a masterclass in rhythmic design and drum processing with it’s stripped back yet powerful arrangement. This theme of percussive delight continues to roll out as the project continues with ‘Hold Up, Wait!’, a more urgent design as its title would suggest, this time incorporating a more melodic set of influences with groovy horn riffs and a steadily evolving percussive backbone taking lead roles. We then finish up with ‘Lightning Strike’, another stripped back showcase of UK funky mastery, this time amping up the pressure with a lethal bassline below and yet more evolutionary percussive inputs, rounding off a strong selection in serious style. The early influences of dancehall and garage are clear to hear throughout the EP, with his multi genre DJ background boosting the project into something spectacular!
