MO(G)YAH = BLOOD (eng. translation), is the brainchild, musical project & visionary exploration of Jack D. Mensah. Drawing inspiration from his academic journey spanning prestigious institutions such as the University of Cape Town, Zeppelin University in Friedrichshafen, Germany, and Erasmus University in Rotterdam, Jack infuses MOGYAH with a rich tapestry of social and political studies and cultural economics. MOGYAH serves as an ongoing narrative, weaving together the narratives of ppl from the Black diasporas and the Global South. Rooted in qualitative research methods, DJ sets, sounds, spoken word, and visuals, MOGYAH transcends mere entertainment, seeking to challenge prevailing narratives of power, culture, and aesthetics. With a keen eye on dissecting the intersections of race, class, and gender. Yet, MOGYAH is not solely about critique; it's a beacon of empowerment and self-discovery. Through the transformative power of music and knowledge production, the project aims to foster joy, self-love, and self-reflection among Black and Brown communities worldwide.
