Biography

Known Worldwide for his balcony concerts in Milan during the pandemic in 2020. Aldo Cicchini is an Italian-Uruguayan violinist and multi-instrumentalist who began his musical jorurney at the age of 5. Raised in Montevideo, from an early age he enjoyed experimenting with different musical genres, ranging from classical to tango, rock, pop switching between playing violin, guitar and singing. 
 He later moved to Italy to continue his musical journey at the Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi in Milan under the guidance of Maestro Daniele Gay, graduating in 2010 with top marks and special mention. He then continued his studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna with Dora Schwarzberg. Winner of numerous prizes and scholarships, he has toured the world as an orchestral player, chamber musician or soloist in the most prestigious halls in the world, from Argentina to Hong Kong. In 2014 he won the international competition to join the Sinfonica Nazionale della Rai (among more than 500 entrants) where he takes part today in the first violins section. 
In 2020, during the covid19 pandemic, he played every day from his balcony to give hope to those around him and live on social media. His concerts go viral all over the world, to the point that on the Chinese social network Weibo, the first video gets more than 10 million views. Since then, he has done several live concerts online, reaching up to 328,000 people in a single concert. He has more than 800000 fans on Weibo.
