Biography

Sanae Yoshida is an Oslo-based pianist working regularly with both contemporary and classical repertoire as a solo, chamber and ensemble musician. She has worked closely with several composers, and has premiered a large number of works. From October 2017 she is an artistic research fellow at the Norwegian Academy of Music/The Norwegian Artistic Research Programme, with the project "The microtonal piano - and the tuned-in interpreter". Yoshida is a member of Ensemble Temporum, an Oslo-based ensemble of contemporary music. They had their debut at the Ultima festival 2016 in Oslo, performing Grisey's Vortex Temporum. As a member of Fragaria Vesca, she recorded chamber works by David Monrad Johansen in 2015, on the label of SIMAX. The CD was nominated to "Spellemannsprisen", "the Norwegian Grammy", in the classical music category. In 2015, she also recorded contemporary solo/chamber works by Øyvind Mæland on the label of LAWO Classics. The following year, she recorded chamber works by Halfdan Cleve, again with Fragaria Vesca.
