Born in Richmond, Virginia on November 24, 1996, Casey Rae Cosby, professionally known as Rae DoubleR, submerged into music production at the early age of 8. Heavily influenced by the original trap sound in production in 2005, Rae began producing and rapping. In 2014, Rae was accused of firearm possession by a minor and involvement in a shooting that occured days before the arrest. The suspicion was cleared, but Rae was convicted for the suspicion of possession. A few cooperatives corroborated a story enough for charges to stick, though lacking physical evidence. His extensive academic record and lack of previous criminal record convinced the judge to expunge the charges under a condition of 1 year probation and few days of time served incarcerated. Eventually changing the stage name to Rae DoubleR, DoubleR meaning Real Rap. Rae dropped out of VCU in February of 2017, to pursue full time owner. He reconnected with Scoop and that partnership lead to the literal renaming of the studio to Verify Sounds. That summer, Digital Nas and Scoop recorded "Selfish" which hit 100k first week and 1M in the first 3 weeks. Mixed by Rae, the studio became a household name in his home city. Rae DoubleR continues to release his own music, as being known as an engineer peaked. 5 projects of cohesive sounds later, Rae took a year off. In 2020, Rae dropped "Mama Nita" which featured the popular collab with Vesta, "ForwarDD," produced by Nate Rhoads.
