Tray Avlon is a Jamaican-born rapper hailing from Dagenham, Essex. Where he started his music journey over 10 years ago. He began making music after a friend mentioned that he could record him over an instrumental using a broken headset and Magix Music Maker. Tray saw it as a means to bond with his father (who remained in Jamaica after he moved to the UK) and also as an opportunity to provide for his mother. In 2011, he joined the UK Rap/Grime group Ground Zero after meeting UK rap legends Frontlinerz. The group released two mixtapes and one single called ‘Are You Ready’ which debuted at #2 in the charts. Since then, Tray has released two EPs and a string of singles independently. Away from music, he's also credited as producer for the music show called ‘Show Must Go On’ in 2021. As of 2023, he's racked up a total of over 100 shows domestically including open mics, festivals, headline shows and tours. An avid reader of Stoic Philosophy, Tray has a unique approach to life, business and his art making him stand out rapper and businessman. His unique ear for production, characterised by dexterous flows and punchy delivery, has caught the attention of industry heads on multiple occasions, receiving co-signs from the likes of Chris Crichlow (Tik Tok), Niyah Smith (Graduation Records), Rupinder Virdee (PRS Music), Shane Mizermilli (Dreamlife Records), Andre AM (BBC 1xTra) and many others.
