A New Yorker all her life, Jaguar Grace's music career began as a classical organist at 13. She left the classical world for Pop music at 21. Building an 8 track recording studio in her studio apartment decades before there was laptop recording, she learned to record, engineer, and produce her own music. Playing keyboards and singing backup for numerous bands during the late 1980's in NYC, the time had come for her to step out on her own. Showcasing her songs at The Limelight NYC introduced her to the music industry. That performance is on JaguarGrace.com. A detour, in the form of clothing and fabric design studies, presented itself in the mid-1990s. At the Fashion Institute of Technology, she perfected pattern-making skills that she had long toyed with, but never taken seriously. After 3 years of FIT and Parsons she missed making music and started writing again. She emerged in 2000 with her debut “Janice Grace” (on Spotify). With a Pro band or singing to tracks with dancers, she performed as Janice Grace (real name) at Acme Underground, CBGB's, Cheetah, China Club, Downtime, Elbow Room, Hard Rock Cafe 57th St, and The Roxy Boston. She recorded with David Bowie's band on her album “Save The Planet”. In 2010 she returned to playing classical organ on Sundays. During the week she composes underscore and Pop music.
