Kiirstin Marilyn is an alt-pop singer-songwriter, actor, and activist. Her entire life has been defined by music and live performance as she became enthralled with stage performance at the age of 3. Her life in the arts has taken many twists and turns from a budding musical theater career just out of college, to becoming the front person of a post-hardcore progressive rock band, to co-creating the sketch comedy duo, Goddamn Vegan S.O.B.s, with many projects and creations in between. At the age of 22, Kiirstin was introduced to both street activism and the concept of oppression. She decided then that her artistic expression would have to be used to help collapse the pillars that hold up oppressive systems. It wasn’t until fall of 2020 with the release of her first full length solo album, There Are No Cats in America, produced by Adam Tilzer, that this dream would be fully realized. Each song on this album tackles themes from feminism to veganism to the flawed notion of the “American Dream,” metaphorically connecting one form of oppression to the next. Kiirstin can be seen in minor roles on Mr. Robot (USA) and Hightown (Starz), and soon Dr. Death (Peacock). Her latest EP, Kristoffer, also produced by Adam Tilzer and dedicated to the memory of her brother who passed in May of 2021, will be released on October 20th, 2023. Keep up with Kiirstin at KiirstinMarilyn.com and on Instagram (and sometimes Tiktok), and stream all of her music on Tidal, Spotify, and Apple Music.
