G.A. Ristori: Cantatas for Soprano & O...

Ristori: Oboe concerto in E-Flat Major

Biography

Jon Olaberria was born in 1984 in Vitoria-Gasteiz, the capital of the Basque Country. He studied at the Higher School of Music “Musikene” in San Sebastian with Juan Manuel Lumbreras, at the Conservatoire de Rayonnement Régional in Bayonne with Jacky Morel, and at the Conservatoire de Rayonnement Régional in Boulogne-Billancourt with Yves Poucel, graduating with honors. Master classes with Alfredo Bernardini awakened his interest in the baroque oboe, prompting him to study period performance at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris with Michel Henry and at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels with Paul Dombrecht, where he obtained a Master's degree in historical oboe. In addition to being a member of Ensemble Diderot’s chamber music formation, Jon Olaberria performs with ensembles such as the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra, Pygmalion, and Il Delirio Fantastico. He is regularly invited to play first oboe in Les Talens Lyriques (Christophe Rousset) and Musicaaeterna (Theodor Currentzis).
