Biography

Swedish lutenist Magnus Andersson (*1981) studied historical plucked instruments with Sven Åberg at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, and Nigel North at Indiana University in Bloomington, USA, furthering his lute studies with lessons and masterclasses with Paul O’Dette, Jordi Savall, Pat O’Brien, Robert Barto and Paul Beier. Since completing his studies, he has performed throughout Europe, Asia and North America on both lute and theorbo and works regularly with some of the most prominent European ensembles including the Le Concert d ́Astrée, Les Talens Lyriques, Les Cornets Noirs, Attaiginant Consort, Akademie fur Alte Musik Berlin, Internationale Bachakademie Stuttgart, Collegium 1704, Vox Luminis, Dresdner Kammerchor, Dresdner Festspielsorchester, Ensemble Inegal, Ensemble Polyharmonique, Musica alta Ripa, and many others.
