Treee City is the electronic music project of Durham, NC-based artist Patrick Phelps-McKeown. Since 2002, he has been creating hybrid dance music that draws from field recordings, pop radio, broken technology, and rave nostalgia. A founding member and resident DJ of club night Party Illegal, his desire to ignite dancefloors has led to a musical style awash with thick textures of emotion, and propelled by rolling drums and tectonic basslines. After several singles, both self-released and on net label Top Cats, he released his debut EP Disco Completo on Durham avant beat label Raund Haus in 2018, featuring the breakout single "Tidal Wave" with Ace Henderson. 2020 saw the release of "Mek Mi Anxious," a dancehall-infused collaboration with Cameroonian-American artist M8alla, as well as "Tell Me," a standout track on up-and-coming techno label Maison Fauna's debut compilation.
