Biography

Swedish pop-singer MICHI, now under the name emi, was born Emilia Eklund in 1997 in Malmö, Sweden. Growing up in a house filled with music, it wasn't long until she took her first steps towards a singing career. At the age of 8, Emilia competed for Sweden in the famous Italian singing contest "Zecchino D'oro" with the song "Il mio cuore e un gran pallone" written by Italian singer "Biagio Antonacci. Her career later took a real leap when she graduated music school in 2016 at the age of 19, and recorded her first official single, "Friday Night Club Escape". After competing with the song in a Swedish radio competition, she continues her work with the sonwriters Peter Hägerås and Spoke Wintersparv and released "Know Me" in September 2017. In July 2018, Emilia, Spoke and Peter Hägerås teamed up with Peter Sydén to write "Top Of The Line" , an upbeat summer tune. Later the same year Peter Hägerås and Emilia wrote "December Dreams" that marked the start of a new era. From then on Emilia has been working alongside Peter Hägerås to create and discover their cooperative ability to write and produce music. In May 2021 they released "svårare" under MICHIs new artist name, her first single sung in Swedish.
