Born in Raleigh NC in the last year of the 80’s, Jiaani was birthed into a music loving family. Growing up in an all Persian household he quickly learned the language mainly through music. Jiaani's grandmother was a school principal who also taught music. She loved listening to Frank Sinatra and watching I love Lucy and young Jiaani would always accompany her. His mother and father both were into American music in a diverse way. His parents enjoyed artists such as the Steve Millers Band, Mark Morrison, Prince, and several others from various genres. In the mid 90’s Jiaani’s family finally got cable television where he would discover his love for Hip Hop and R&B. Jiaani would find himself spending countless hours watching MTV and BET. Biggie, Jay Z, Nas, and Lauren Hill, were just a few of the artists who's music would inspire the young poet. From those early influences, Jiaani has grown to become a musical force to be reckoned with and has already worked alongside some of Hip Hop's favorite MCs. With a multitude of videos and music under his belt it is quite apparent that he takes his craft seriously. In an industry full of noise Jiaani cuts through with carefully articulated rhymes, crisp vocals, and well thought out punchlines that's guaranteed to stand out.
