Reggae singer Serani started racking up solo hits in 2008 with his single "Doh," but his behind-the-scenes work in music goes back to 2001, the year he formed the Daseca production team with brothers David and Craig Harrisingh. Born Craig Marsh, Kingston native Serani had long been best friends with the Harrisngh brothers, and when they formed Daseca -- a word that borrowed two letters from each member's name -- their dream was to produce the most popular dancehall artists. Their Chaka Chaka and Clear riddims became popular enough that Elephant Man took notice, enlisting the trio in 2005 for what was to be a number one Jamaican hit, "Willie Bounce." The next year Serani and crew produced Sean Paul's massive international hit "We Be Burnin'" along with Tony Matterhorn's dancehall favorite "Dutty Wine." Serani broke out on his own two years later with "Doh," which featured a guest shot from Daseca protégé Bugle. The "She Loves Me" single arrived that same year along with The Future, a Japan-only release that rounded up all of the singer's early tracks. Early 2009 saw the release of the single "No Games," which by the end of the year became the title track to Serani's official debut album. ~ David Jeffries, Rovi
