Born in Portland Oregon, Mac Roo was raised in housing authorities with his sister and mother, travelling across the city to NE Portland where gang trouble and drug dealing was waiting. By 12 years old Mac Roo was selling crack and smoking weed. Expelled from school at 14 years old, by just 15 years of age Mac Roo flew to Vegas, to sell drugs, The world is tough and you have to be tough to survive it. Mac Roo began Pimpin’ and made the transition from small time dealer to well known Pimp in the city. This is real life experience, learned the hard way, and from it comes knowledge and experience that can’t be bought. These ideas filtered through in to some early demos and, just like that, Mac Roo was born. 
 Andre Nickatina, a rapper from San Fransisco, was a turning point and Mac Roo joined him on tour (but not as an artist). Mac Roo knew he had a story to tell. With friends such as the Berner, Equipto, J Stalin and The Jacka provided more input and inspiration. Mac Roo recorded a few demos and The Jacka was impressed on hearing it he promised he would back Mac Roo 100% if he decided to take rap seriously. The Jacka was murderer shortly after.
