Biography

McKeown & Bassiray is a collaboration between Stuart McKeown and Darius Bassiray. The duo bonded over a mutual love for moody and hypnotic Progressive House & Breaks as well as re-launching the much loved Melbourne label Zero Tolerance with Gab Oliver. Their debut was a remix of Deep Funk Project "Subritual", followed by two contributions for Gab Oliver's "Drowning EP" both as Depth Institute and McKeown & Bassiray. Their follow-up release was the Depth Institute remix of Hot TuneiK‘s ‘Poema‘ which was heavily supported by John Digweed on his recent tour of Argentina, featured on his Transitions Radio show, and peaked at #2 on the Beatport Top 100 Progressive House Releases Chart. They have also released an original EP "Cave" on Zero Tolerance, a remix as Depth Institute of Digby & Oliver "Human", a remix for Mike Rish "Killing Time" on Late Night Music, and have just released a remix of Forty Cats "Custom" on Mango Alley. They have also released mixes on esteemed podcasts "Balance Selections" (as Depth Institute), and 333 Sessions. Moody soundscapes that are mediated by underlying tension and bathed in darkness, McKeown & Bassiray's haunted and sophisticated late-night progressive storytelling is uncompromising in every sense of the word.
