Kali Claire was raised in East London by her mum, listening to mostly RNB and Hip-Hop. She was introduced to musical theatre at an impromptu trial day, but it led to her participating in performances with the ‘Kids ahead’ stage school in Tottenham and Hackney Empire ‘ADP’. Kali found a home in the arts, but particularly in songs. In her early years, Kali’s grandfather was part of a local folk group and passed down his love for the guitar before he passed. Having always been around music, her love for the process grew. She began making songs of her own, whilst teaching herself to engineer and produce. Even though it wasn’t initially part of the vision, it quickly became a form of communicating. Present day Kali Claire has written for the likes of Alicia Keys, 單依純 and Chris Brown. Kali’s vocals have also been sampled by Mhuncho, Unknown T, Tinie Tempah and more. She’s currently working with grammy award winning songwriters and producers in the studio, and returning to her childhood roots on the stage most recently performing at the SXSW 2024 Texas festival.
