Kalevi Kiviniemi is a world-renowned concert organist who has played in some of the most celebrated venues in the world, such as Notre-Dame de Paris, Leipzig Gewandhaus, Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow, the Great Hall of Moscow Conservatory, and the Sejong Art Center in Soul, Korea. He has given recitals at St. Sulpice and Basilique Sainte-Clotilde in Paris, Berlin Cathedral, Passau Cathedral, Merseburg Cathedral, Saint John the Divine in New York, Rockefeller Memorial Chapel in Chicago, Saint Patrick's Catholic Church in Washington, and Toronto Cathedral. Having performed numerous times at Notre-Dame de Paris, Kalevi Kiviniemi filmed a documentary there in 2000 alongside Olivier Latry, titular organist at the cathedral. Kiviniemi also performed solo recitals at Notre-Dame in 2002 and 2017. Kiviniemi has toured in the USA, Europe, Japan, Russia, Asia, Australia and the Philippines. Kalevi Kiviniemi's discography includes nearly 200 titles. Notable recordings include the historical Cavaillé-Coll organs in Saint-Ouen in Rouen and in Cathédrale Sainte-Croix in Orléans. Among his awards, he has secured two gold records, and one platinum. In 2001, Kiviniemi received the Janne Prize for the best Finnish solo disc, and in 2009, the coveted State Prize for Music in Finland. In 2012, he was knighted, receiving the title Chevalier OCM.
