Mo Joe, Born Joseph Davis Jr. age 27, hails from the Austin Neighborhood located on the West Side of Chicago. He was brought up with a strong musical as his parents brought him up in the church. It was not until 6th grade that he started to develop his own personal musical taste. Being influenced by the witty word play of Lil Wayne, melodic and harmonious tones of Drake, and relatability of J. Cole, Mo Joe offers listeners an alternative to the usual Chicago Drill Sound. In fact, Mo Joe does not consider himself a Drill Rapper at all. Mo Joe makes music mainly for the sport of it, but also because it’s therapeutic for him. Although he admits that he may not be on the level as Wayne, Drake, or Cole, he knows with time he too can be considered one of the greats. He is aware of the hard work necessary to succeed not only in music, but in life. That’s partly why his favorite quote is “Nothing worth having will be obtained with ease.” Mo Joe wants his listeners to know that he’s grateful for all the support. “No matter what stage in the journey you come along, its more than a pleasure to have you down for this ride."
