From the home of Blue Wave Beaches and Dania Jai Alai; Dania Beach, Florida, comes 3MG’s “rookie of the year”, recording artist, 9milly. 9milly comes from the urban areas, which you will not see on tour guides. Gun violence, gangs, and death are more of what 9milly would describe his hometown, yet his family ties and his well-established roots are with him everywhere he goes. Milly is his childhood nickname and the nine represents one of his best friends, Lashaun, who passed away in a tragic car accident. Enjoying the arts, 9milly loves to express himself creatively by diving into fashion, crazy film ideas, photos, and of course, music. His friends swayed him into rapping because as soon as he learned about rhyming words, he was rapping but never thought about taking his craft seriously. 9milly was more of a football man, which is until the unfortunate death of George Floyd. This life altering moment in current history made him decide to maximize his full potential and knowing how profound the human mind can be, he knew that choosing music would allow him to become a powerful figure in the world. In the initial stages of the pandemic, 9milly was still playing ball, but was unable to keep up with filming and recruitment, yet he maintained a positive mind and that gave him the motivation needed to keep going. While the world chose to shut down, 9milly shut himself into the studio and took full advantage of his time by recording and preparing his next move.
