Hard Lovin' Man

Biography

Harold “Fat Harry” van Dorth is recognized as one of Holland’s most talented blues guitar players. And together with his band of seasoned musicians Fat Harry and his Fuzzy Licks are much in demand on Dutch stages, blues or otherwise. They will rock clubs and festivals alike and are always welcome to come back and entertain the crowds with their exciting mix of various blues styles. Playing or creating his own style mixing anything from Chicago Blues to funk and Memphis soul or New Orleans R&B, Fat Harry’s guitar sound is his own, even if he will tell you that Joe Louis Walker, Lucky Peterson or Preston Shannon are his main inspirations. Now with Hard Lovin’ Man, Fat Harry and the Fuzzy Licks also return to the forefront of recorded blues in Holland. All the styles they like to play so much ar represented. Funk (with Henry Oden playing bass on 9 songs and also lending his vocals on Don’t Know You That Well for instance) to hard rocking or soulful blues (listen to the band and Preston Shannon and his guitar weeping in As The Years Go Passing By and tell me you don’t like blues!), It’s all here. Including the briljant sounds of the horn section that also spices up so many of Fat Harry’s live shows.
