Jur Vermijs is a Dutch guitarist who specialized in flamenco. Having studied with the great guitarist Paco Peña, he is now part of various projects around the Netherlands, while also composing and arranging his own music. In 2019 he released Vidriera, an EP containing 6 original compositions. In 2023 he adapted a selection of Johann Sebastian Bach's famous Goldberg Variations for flamenco and classical guitar, performing them together with tango/classical guitarist Tim Panman. The result, Goldberg Flamenco Suite, is a very personal interpretation of the much performed original. Both an hommage to the famous composer as to the great flamenco guitarists throughout history.
