Somila Hermans (born October 15, 2001), known professionally as Skater Out South, is a South African rapper, born and raised in Bisho in Eastern Cape, the capital city of the province. He embarked on his musical career as a member of hip hop at the age of 13 years old, from which he adopted his moniker. He was keeping a songwriting journal by the age of 11. While in high school, he began regularly uploading covers, but after running into a couple copyright roadblocks, he switched to original material recorded to public-domain beats with a simple USB mike. Skater's first self-produced efforts appeared in 2018, followed by his debut album, Systematic World, in 2022. It featured different guest producers on each tracks and landed on some high-profile playlists. From there on out he has been leading his path and staying in his lane.
