JC, formerly known as the Lazyass Pupil, is an American recording artist, songwriter, and engineer from Tampa, Florida. Born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, he moved further South at the age of 5. Since then, Lazy has collaborated and released several songs online, including working with artists such as Tampa native Joey Trill and MadeinTYO's label mate MyNamePhin. Given the elements of thoughtful candor in Lazyass Pupil‘s music, it comes as little surprise that his artistic aspirations began in elementary school. However, his musical career wouldn’t take off until 2016, when he began uploading his work to SoundCloud. He cites artists like The Notorious B.I.G. , Isaiah Rashad, Mac Miller and even Dr. Seuss as being some of the most influential voices in his life.
