The partnership of Lachlan Stuckey and Jethro Curtin delves into numerous musical spheres; as DJs of the soulful side of record racks; as composers and musicians in instrumental soul project Surprise Chef, and as record label partners, releasing crusty instrumental music out of their analogue-focused home studio. Since meeting at music school as two young guitarists, Stuckey and Jethro have put their roots down deep in the Melbourne music scene, establishing the College Of Knowledge Records label in 2018 to issue recordings of the rougher side of underground soul music in Melbourne.
