Biography

Alberto Montero was born in Valencia and grew up in the Puerto de Sagunto. In the year 2000 he forms psychedelic band Shake with whom he records two albums both published by Greyhead Records. In 2008 Alberto releases his first solo album where he explores his folk side without losing the lysergic elements that distinguish his compositions. In 2009 he moves to Barcelona after Shake dissolves, but continues his solo career with a second album called Claroscuro (2011). The Catalan city and the consequent inquisitiveness of starting a new life, gain a considerable importance. Alberto joins Barcelona label BCore Disc and sings in Spanish for the first time. His third album Puerto Príncipe introduces sensual Latin-American elements that add to his complete and original creative fan. His fourth album, Arco Mediterráneo allowed Alberto to showing his music in huge festivals like Primavera Sound. His fifth album La Catedral Sumergida (BCore 2018) is what us Spanish call an 'obra maestra'. A magical mixture between classical and folk music. El Desencanto (BCore 2020) is his comeback to rock and pop music, featuring Stereolab ‘s singer Laetitia Sadier in highlighting “Le Soleil”. His latest release, Ciudad dormida (BCore 2024), shows us Montero’s composing abilities at his finest. Alberto deploys here all his style catalogue from cosmic folk to psych rock passing through baroque music. A remarkable track is his collaboration with Alejandro y Maria Laura in Nube Violeta.
