"Rapper A.B.S. had a big win this summer when he was crowned the champ of the XXL and Corona Extra Ready or Not Rap Battle. While most contestants relied on boastful verses with occasional snaps in combat, the Philadelphia native edged out his opponents by simply following tried-and-true guidelines from the Battling 101 handbook. "I just brought up the person's picture. and I was like 'Alright. how can I tear this person apart?'" says A.B.S. "I figured the more personal you get. the better off, obviously." The competition wasn't A.B.S.'s first time in the limelight-he's been putting in work for years. As part of Redman's Space Cadetz crew, A.B.S. signed a label deal for his own Skullneck Records via Icarus' Johnny Pump Entertainment in 2008. The record deal was short-lived. Undaunted, A.B.S. began releasing music just through Skullneck. To date, he's dropped six projects, including four available (on Spotify).
