Biography

Santiago Latorre is an artist and engineer interested in how the organic and the living participate, and can affect all phases of a sound object, from the moment of conception to perception. He explores cycles, forces and physical events that impact the way we perceive and feel in projects that include the 'Sonification of the Human Genome', the private performance performed exclusively for an audience of two 'A pie de cama', and in the solo albums 'Órbita' and 'Eclíptica'. He has toured internationally including concerts at Sonar, Primavera Sound, Ars Electronica, Sundance and Esplanade Singapore; and has worked on various dance, fashion and film projects presented at Tate Modern in London, Fundació Antoni Tàpies in Barcelona and Quanta Arts Foundation in Taipei among other spaces. In 2012, he composed the music for the film 'Interior. Leather Bar', co-directed by James Franco and Travis Mathews. Latorre curates FUGA in Zaragoza, Spain, an international artist in residency program, as well as an exhibition platform and educational content incubator that fosters community, interconnecting artists, creatives and collectives who, from different angles of music, art and technology work with sound as their tool.
