Musician and radio personality Fabrizio Lavoro a.k.a. Nikki was born in Foggia, Italy on July 7th 1971 and mainly grew up around Torino and Milano. As a teenager he played in various hard rock/metal bands then landed an audition for TV show ‘Deejay Television’ where he started hosting and playing guitar riffs at the age of 18. Consequently he started his radio show on major station Radio Deejay. In ‘94 he released the album ‘Rock Normale’, which included the ballad ‘L’ultimo bicchiere’, written by 883. The song was a major hit in Italy, winning the ‘Disco per l’estate’ in ‘94. He toured with Jovanotti in ‘97, opening shows with an acoustic set and djing. After a break spent abroad he returned to radio with the show Tropical Pizza, which to this day is well known nationally for its eclectic mix of music and talk, starting a long list of interviews and live jams both on air and on stage. A passionate traveler, in the mid 00’s he ran his radio show from New York and subsequently hosted TV travel show Shuffolato. In 2017 he founded Tropical Pizza Soundsystem, featuring a live band and turntablist Dj Aladyn. In 2019 he released a new album under the name La Superluna di Drone Kong, entirely recorded and mixed by himself in his apartment. In 2020 he wrote and performed the theme song to the new radio show Summer Camp, which is also televised. The album Superluna Rock Music was released in June 2022 and features the Punk-environmentalist song Idea. Nosferatu is out now! 🧛
