Although born in Jamaica Queens, Tuhvon grew up primarily in the conservative city of Cincinnati, Ohio where minority gain is scarce. Raised by a single parent, Tuhvon learned to appreciate hard work at an early age. He watched his mother struggle to put him through school and that inspired him to become successful despite the odds of being a black gay male. Growing up on rap icons including The Notorious B.I.G., Jay-Z, Lil Kim, Remy Ma, and Nicki Minaj gave him an appreciation for speaking on controversial topics while being an unapologetic artist. Tuhvon decided to take upon music himself targeting the LGBTQ community while keeping the raw street edge that he loved growing up. Combining the club anthems of Gucci Mane and the storytelling abilities of Biggie, Tuhvon shows many dimensions within his music. Leading up to the 1st project he has made some commendable accomplishments including several successful radio interviews, performances in Cincinnati with Dreezy and Atlanta with Bobby Lytes of Love and Hip-hop Miami, club plays in Cincinnati, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Indianapolis, and Virginia by supporting DJ’s. From humble beginnings to finishing college and chasing his dreams of becoming a rapper, Tuhvon is an independent artist who believes in sharing his story to inspire others. “You can come from poverty, obtain an education, and still follow your dreams”, he expresses in a recent interview. “I want to inspire those who have ever felt like giving up”.
