Sean Chan, better known by the stage name ihateyousean, is an Asian American musical artist based in Brooklyn, New York. Showing interest in music from a young age, Sean was always figuring out how to make noise out of anything, from pianos and violins, to pots and pans. In 2019 Sean started to make music digitally, making beats on Soundtrap, before eventually upgrading to FL Studio in 2020. From there, Sean adopted the name ilysean! and began to post beats on YouTube. Sean's beatmaking tutorials began to gain traction in late 2022, and his YouTube channel quickly grew to over 3,000 subscribers. Curiosity and experimentation led to Sean posting his first song, Alone on SoundCloud in 2021. It has since been deleted, however, Sean continued experimenting with different styles of rapping and singing under the name ihateyousean, and continues to make a name for himself in the underground scene.
