Biography

Since its inception in 2004, the Quatuor Voce has been recognised internationally as one of the most fascinating string quartets among the young generation, performing worldwide alone or alongside outstanding artists such as Yuri Bashmet, Gary Hoffman, Nobuko Imai, Bertrand Chamayou, David Kadouch, Juliane Banse, to name but a few. In only a few years the quartet received the highest prizes from renowned international competitions, including Geneva, Cremona, Vienna, Bordeaux, Graz, London and Reggio Emilia, and since then has been committed to championing the great repertoire for string quartet, seeking guidance from some of its leading exponents (the Ysaÿe Quartet, Günter Pichler, Eberhard Felz). The quartet recently toured the most prestigious halls in Europe thanks to the ECHO organization, which named the quartet as ‘Rising Stars’ in 2013: Concertgebouw (Amsterdam), Konzerthaus (Vienna), Philharmonie de Luxembourg, Barbican (London), Elbphilharmonie (Hamburg), Philharmonie de Cologne, MUPA (Budapest), Gulbenkian (Lisbon), Casa da Musica (Porto), BOZAR (Brussels), Megaron (Athens), Town Hall (Birmingham), Cité de la musique (Paris), Konserthuset (Stockholm), Konzerthaus (Dortmund), Palau de la Musica (Barcelona) and Festspielhaus (Baden Baden). Open to diverse art forms, and in particular contemporary music, the Voce regularly work closely on new commissions from living composers, including Bruno Mantovani, Gianvicenzo Cresta, Graziane Finzi, Alexandros Markeas...
