Dan Alan Levine was born and raised in the suburbs of New York and graduated from The Manhattan School of Music in NYC. He started playing the piano at age 2, and has been playing and performing ever since. Dan received numerous awards for his many commercials, and music for radio/TV stations through the years. His 80’s hit, BIG BAND MEDLEY, reached #19 on the Billboard charts and was the most requested new record in NYC for three weeks. Dan received a TONY AWARD nomination (BEST ORIGINAL SCORE) for composing the score of the Broadway Musical, Anna Karenina. The show received four TONY AWARD nominations, and was performed in Chicago, and to sold-out audiences in nine Japanese cities. Dan orchestrated and produced the Broadway Cast Album staring Melissa Errico, Kerry Butler, Gregg Edelman, Marc Kudish, Brian D’arcy James, and Jeff McCarthy. Dan orchestrated the music for the Japanese production of ANNA KARENINA. Dan arranged/orchestrated/produced and played keyboards on the Leslie Uggams album, ON MY WAY TO YOU. He worked on that album in conjunction with some of the music industry’s leading legends including Marilyn and Alan Bergman, Jon Lucien, and Michel Legrand who sang on the album. Dan produced the Off-Broadway cast recording of THUNDER KNOCKING ON THE DOOR. Dan’s current project is his new original contemporary jazz album, OVER THE MOON. Dan is planning a 2023 tour to promote his new album and is available to play the piano at events of all types.
