Harley Lampkin grew up in Tracy, California. She sang on renowned stages such as the Grand Ole’ Opry in Nashville, Tennessee and Carnegie Hall in New York City, leading her to pursue a vocal performance degree at the University of the Pacific. She studied under Burr Phillips, and had masterclasses with Eric Dudley from Roomful of Teeth and jazz singers Carmen Bradford and Dee Daniels. She is a 1st place winner of the 2019 Stockton Opera Guild Kathe Underwood Competition, and the 2020 winner of Opera Modesto’s Kristina Townsend Competition. After graduating, she moved to Chicago and began working in non-profit, where she tutored, planned events, and taught after school music at a K-8 on the South Side of Chicago. Harley has been fortunate to sing and study with some of Chicago’s most notable jazz musicians, including Julia Smulson, Jeremiah Hunt, Vincent Davis, Isaiah Collier and was featured on Dante Milano’s debut album. She will be releasing several singles this year in collaboration with Neel Sharma while she teaches English and explores German music in Germany on a Fulbright Scholarship.
