Patrick Cooper is an internationally acclaimed keyboardist, producer, and songwriter who has left an indelible mark on the world of jazz. With his soul-stimulating sound and wonderfully orchestrated compositions, he has captured the essence of former jazz greats, earning him the reputation as one of the true giants of contemporary jazz. Cooper's journey as a musician began in his early years in Portland, Oregon. Surrounded by the captivating melodies of jazz legends like George Duke and The Crusaders, he became enamored with the harmonies, voicing, and colors created by organists and pianists. This early exposure ignited a passion within him and sparked a lifelong love affair with jazz. Driven by his unwavering dedication to his craft, Cooper embarked on a journey to master the art of jazz. He purchased books on music theory and taught himself to read sheet music, laying a solid foundation for his musical pursuits. By the tender age of 18, Cooper had already become the main organist and keyboardist at his local church, showcasing his exceptional talent to the world. At the age of 21, Cooper co-founded a contemporary jazz band called N-Touch, where he had the opportunity to hone his skills as a songwriter. The band's performances at jazz clubs and festivals garnered tremendous acclaim, propelling them to fame within the Portland area. Cooper's songwriting prowess shone through, setting him apart as a multifaceted artist capable of crafting captivating compositions.
