Biography

Dunderpatrullen is an eclectic group hailing from Sweden's northern reaches, specializing in electronica with a particular flair for chiptune-inspired bitpop. When not drawing inspiration from video games of yore, they've been known to dabble in everything from synthwave vibes to EDM. With an irreverent attitude rooted firmly in the Internet's ongoing history, Dunderpatrullen have had great success in the gaming sphere; with gigs ranging from massive conventions like DreamHack and NärCon, to more close-knit events at game studios, there isn't a roof that they can't bring down with their crunchy bits. In keeping with their fierce independence, its members formed their own self-titled label in 2016, breaking away from Warner. After three studio albums, the band opted to eschew old traditions in favor of a model which, perhaps owing to their alignment with gaming, echoes the modern Early Access methodology. After releasing a series of singles, the tunes are compiled and polished into a studio album. While the band was officially formed in 2006, the true origins date to the late 90's, when a young Jim Lindgren founded an online group - Krull Productions - where he and his friends could post videos that they'd created together. With the sort of comedic stupidity that can only be wrought by a true maniac, the explosive success within Sweden's online community set the stage for Dunderpatrullen's meteoric rise.
