Biography

For over 20 years, indie rap veteran AJ Jordan has written and released original music straight from his hometown of Buffalo, New York. Infamous for his grimy aesthetic and infectious, high-energy performances, “The Crescendo” has become a landmark figure among hip hop’s most hardcore listeners. AJ’s signature style combines sharp, densely-packed rhymes and ingenious lyrics with classic rap beats, updating an old-school sound for the modern era. Jordan does more than just sing and rap - he is an independent artist in every sense of the word: creating the artwork for his projects as well as dabbling in audio-visual engineering, film directing, promotional marketing, business consulting, and website design. A relentless worker, AJ Jordan released several projects between 2012 and 2020, including “Sentimental Situations” and the ongoing, multi-part manifesto “The Crescendo LP”. In that time he also performed at over 300 venues across the East Coast & Midwest alongside underground legends like Tech N9ne, Insane Clown Posse, (Hed)PE, and more. This run of live shows included a 14-city East Coast tour with Three 6 Mafia affiliates, as well as headlining a 25-city “Crescendo Across America Tour”. The rapper’s hard work did not go unnoticed: he was named Artvoice’s 'Best of Buffalo' hip hop artist for three consecutive years; awarded the “Best Hip Hop/Rap Performer” at the All WNY Music Awards; and called “Buffalo’s Best Hip Hop Artist” by 103.3 FM The Edge www.AJJordan.Net
