Biography

Filipe Raposo Filipe Raposo was born in Lisbon in 1979. He is a pianist, composer and orchestrator. He began his piano studies at the Conservatório Nacional de Lisboa. He has a Master’s Degree in Piano Jazz Performance from Royal College of Music (Stockholm)
 and was awarded a scholarship to the Royal Music Academy of Stockholm. He graduated in Music Composition from the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa. In addition to his musical career, he collaborates regularly both as a composer and performer in the Cinema and Theatre. He has performed in concert and recorded with some prominent names in the Portuguese music industry: Sérgio Godinho, José Mário Branco, Fausto, Vitorino, Janita Salomé, Amélia Muge, Camané, Carminho, Maria João. Since 2004 he has worked with the Cinemateca Portuguesa as the resident pianist accompanying silent movies. At the invitation of the Cinemateca Portuguesa he composed and recorded the soundtrack for the DVD versions of two Portuguese silent movies: Crónica Anedótica de Leitão de Barros released in Lisbon in 2017 winning a Special Mention at the Festival Il Cinema Ritrovato in Bologna and Reinaldo Ferreira’s O Táxi no. 9297 in 2018. He has performed as a pianist in his own name at various European Jazz festivals. He has made the following recordings in his own name: First Falls (2011) – New Talent Award, Fundação Amália - , A Hundred Silent Ways (2013), Inquiétude (2015), Rita Maria & Filipe Raposo / Live in Oslo (2018), ØCRE (2019).
