Having already achieved great success in Central Asia, she brought her holistic ideologies and offbeat ethno-electronic music, which she likens to “sonic holograms,” to America in 2016. Aliya Kan (known as Marty Crown) was born on May 16th, 1993 in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Her love of music began with the orchestral score of Luc Besson’s 1997 film The Fifth Element. Her parents, hearing their young daughter sing along to the film, immediately enrolled her in vocal courses. Her creative upbringing continued with training at the theater school Obraz аnd with noted opera and jazz singer Rimma Walter.
