Giovanni Beltran Solorio, or better known under the stage name UNKNXWN, began as a rapper in the city of Waukegan, Illinois. After being locally recognized and learning to produce and do everything on his own. He formed a group named "DreamTeam". After having a successful run with the group, it came to an end after various disagreements with the members. Giovanni decided to drop everything. He fell out of the music scene for a few years and tried going about his studies in college. 
 What many didn't know was he had urges to come back into the music scene, but he was never happy with being like everyone else in his hometown - who were simply rappers. He began singing and figuring out his style by drafting up a few songs with what he wanted. Once he was satisfied with what he had accomplished in terms of sound; he had to come up with a unique artist name which will not only distinguish him, but hide his identity as well. He didn't want anyone to know who he was, he began hiding his face in pictures - he made them black and white, blurred out, blocked eyed, etc. He wanted people to listen to his music, but he didn't want them to judge the music based on his look, but only for the sound of the music. 
 The artist name UNKNXWN represents Giovanni's alter-ego, which goes hand-in-hand with the style of his music, which is a more modern mix of R&B, Pop, with a Hip-hop core. The alter ego is a “depressive" side that many people don't see, it’s what makes him who he is as an artist.
