Born and raised in downtown St. Louis, Rocky Maverick lived the first 5 years of his life in The Cochran Projects and later moved to O'Fallon Place Apts. Rocky was the only child and was raised in a single family home. His Mother raised him along with his Father and Grandmother. The influence of music came around middle school. Rocky's mother bought him his first CD/Cassette player which included a CD of Bone Thugs N Harmony's "East 1999 Eternal". This is where he began to become 'interested in music for more than just entertainment. Artist such as Eminem and DMX influenced Rocky to start writing poetry early in high school. He wrote poems at a rapid rate that were vivid and raw. After finally giving rap a shot, Rocky started to flourish and made a unique rap style of his own. He has recorded many of rap artist, he also executive produced an eight member group and compilation, while also dropping his first mixtape in 2012. Taking time away to get his life in order, Rocky hadn't released any music since 2014, but just recently released his debut album "Black Cat" in March of 2017. With a growing fan base, Rocky hopes to expand his brand and tap into markets that will gain him momentum in his entertainment career as a whole. With other ambitions such as acting and radio, it looks like the plate is stacked pretty full for Rocky Maverick. But no worries...hunger has never been an issue!
