Born in Spain, Latin Grammy® nominee Rosino Serrano has been part of the musical scene of Mexico since the early 80s. Either as a composer, arranger, pianist, producer or musical director, he has worked alongside some of the most prominent Latin American artists, including Carlos Santana, Armando Manzanero, Ivan Lins, Eugenia León, Tania Libertad, Bobby Sanabria, Camila, and many others. During the 80s and 90s, Rosino was a keyboardist with the legendary Rock In Opposition group Banda Elástica, touring worldwide. ORQUESTA MODERNA, Rosino’s long-awaited personal project, is a large ensemble for which he gathered the best players from the vigorous jazz scene of Mexico City. The same-titled debut album, mixed by the multi Grammy® and Latin Grammy® winner Rafa Sardina, features Latin jazz luminaries such as Justo Almario, Gianluca Littera, Alex Mercado, Iraida Noriega, et al. A renowned film composer, Rosino has scored iconic features such as the Oscar-nominated The Crime of Father Amaro, Santitos, and Walkout. He has served as a music director for Thalia Spanish Theatre, in NYC, and the Latino Theater Company, in LA. A graduate of Manhattan School of Music, Rosino is currently a faculty member at the National University of Mexico and the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education. He is a member of Sistema Nacional de Creadores de Arte.
