Viceroyz is an indie pop band from Sarawak, Malaysia. Originally named “Piring Seni," the band formed in early 2018, undergoing a name change to “Viceroyz” in 2019. The Samarahan/Kuching quintet — Nick (vocals/guitar), Mike (guitar), Steve (bass), Denil (keyboard), and Chris (drums) — chose their name as a general reference to an American blend cigarette, Viceroy, with an added "Z," symbolising unconventional Gen-Z styles and definitions.   Their music style, known as DIS Pop, blends dance, indie, and synth pop genres. They enhanced their creativity with melodic/catchy guitar riffs, a groovy bassline, and atmospheric synths. These captivating fusions allow them to express their creativity and captivate audiences with infectious melodies and energetic performances.   Viceroyz cites Last Dinosaurs, boy pablo, Vacations, and other big artists as major musical and style influences. Viceroyz has released their debut album, 2ROYZ.FM (December 2023), which is based on the synthe-pop caricature.
