With a pensive demeanor, Fenny Cristo writes without compromise. A lyricist's lyricist, he presents candid snapshots of inner city life, mental health, and social change through the lens of his Filipino-Canadian identity. Fenny, however, is not new to the recording booth. Since debuting in 2004 with his album “The Audiobiography,” he made a name as “FenaxiZ” in his native Toronto where he would eventually release “The Strongest Link” (2006) and “Vintage” (2012). Besides these solo efforts, Fenny's smooth yet gravel-laced flow would contribute to more than 30 guest features and mixtapes over the course of his career; all the while touring with his former crew, the Team US! Collective. In 2016, Fenny recorded another album “Chain City” in collaboration with long-time friend and producer royceBIRTH. While this project has remained in the vaults, it will finally be released officially on streaming platforms in 2024 alongside a collection of select rare tracks to commemorate the 20th anniversary of “The Audiobiography.” This campaign is also part of Fenny's push to finally upload his material in the digital space. Currently based in Montreal, Fenny Cristo continues to make music while advocating Hip-Hop as a tool to connect with and empower youth through his community work.
