As the daughter of a renowned Indian playback singer, Sujatha Mohan, she grew up watching her mother sing and so always wanted to be like her. Binni Krishnakumar (noted carnatic and playback singer), Western vocal and piano under Mr. Augustine Paul and Hindustani vocal under Sri. Fayaz Khan. Shweta is the recipient of several coveted awards like - Filmfare Award, Kerala State Film Award, Radio Mirchi Award, Film Critics Award, Vanitha Film Award and many more. She is known for her effervescent style of singing and has rendered her voice for some of the most celebrated music directors in India like Sri Illayaraja, Sri AR Rahman, Sri Ousepachan, Sri M Jayachandran, Sri Deepak Dev, Sri Harris Jayaraj, Sri Yuvan Shankar Raja, Sri Sharreth, Sri Johnson.
