Brussels-based DJ and Producer Max le Daron is a veteran in the global club music scene, with more than 10 years of touring the world and producing. Intrigued by the new wave of club and pop music in African and South American countries, he founded the label Lowup Records in 2011 alongside DJ Mellow and Mr. Orange. Praised for their crazy parties and hi-quality releases, they also host a weekly radio show on BRUZZ, showcasing their releases and the freshest music from all around the world. His passion for African music started to grow exponentially when Benjamin Lebrave, head of Akwaaba Music, invited him to Ghana in 2013 to record a soundbank of traditional Ghanaian percussions, The Roots Of Azonto, aimed at local producers. This led to a series of trips to West Africa, to continue the work on the soundbank, but also to craft productions for local talents such as Joey le Soldat and Bryte. These trips helped him forge his unique style, a blend between European underground club music and African/Caribbean dance music. Two of his productions got featured in Bryte’s first LP: Too Good For Your Liking, on More Time Records. He’s now unveiling his first full-length record, Unless Tomorrow. Composed and recorded between Brussels, Accra and Ouagadougou. It’s the result of deep connections, friendships and collaborations weaved through Max multiple stays in Accra over the years, aiming to showcase Max’ universe as well as the bubbling Ghanaian alternative scene.
