Chicago based trumpeter and artist Marques Carroll has been on the scene for over 20 years carving his own path as a musician. He has been a top call commercial player in Chicago playing lead trumpet, leading sections, contracting horn sections for national/international acts, creating with other Chicago based jazz artists and most recently toured with the Count Basie Orchestra for three years before dedicating his time to his own music and newly found record label, JMarq Records in which he cofounded with saxophonist John Fournier. Marques is the leader of The Trumpet Summit in Chicago and the co-leader of the Chicago Soul Jazz Collective. He is currently busy writing music for his newly founded music production/publishing company, MCM ULTD and is on the board for Chicago's Bandwidth organization bringing music to kids on the west side of Chicago. His latest project non music related but yet inspires his writing is his mentoring program for young African-American men called the Jabari Young Men's Society. His debut record, "The Ancestors' Call" releases April 16th, 2021 stay tuned.
