It’s not every day that talent becomes so obvious at a young age, but for German DJ Rakom, the evidence is unmistakable. The Bochum-based artist, born in 2005, comes from a vinyl background and boasts impressive mixing skills alongside his drum practice that he’s been doing since he was 7. At 11 he started practicing with turntables, taking him to his first ever club gig 2 years later. Since then he’s had multiple club appearances as a newcomer, bespoke young talent and other special accolades. Since then, Rakom has graced multiple clubs as a promising newcomer. With an innate understanding of sounds, it was only logical for Rakom to delve into music production. Not long after, he founded his own label "Rakords," where he released his first two EPs. These tracks received enthusiastic feedback from industry heavyweights like Takaaki Itoh and Richie Hawtin, solidifying his place in the techno scene. Being a true techno purist, Rakom draws inspiration from iconic figures like Regis, Surgeon, The Advent, Developer, and Oscar Mulero, who have left an indelible mark on the underground techno landscape. On a personal level, he aspires to bring techno music in its purest form to a wider audience of both avid listeners and aspiring artists. With his impeccable curation and crafty mixing skills, Rakom strives to elevate techno to new heights.
